But if you feel like riding with uns anyway, we'll paint you a manual number to be part of it. We gather this afternoon 2pm at Zürichhorn, Heureka. See you very soon.

Note: Only registered riders can be considered for the prizes! You can collect your number on Sat. June 15th from 2.15 pm on at Heureka, Zürichhorn, where we will start.

Saturday is approaching - the essentials

The 3rd Zürich Saturday Style Ride is approaching and we look forward to welcome the stylish cyclist from 2pm on at Heureka/Zürichhorn. 111 starting numbers will be handed out. First come - first serve. Only participants with a starting number are in the run for this year's prizes. Admission is free - just make sure you are dressed to the nines!

WHAT IS IT? A stylish cycle ride for people who enjoy fashion, cycling and life. No political meaning attached, though you are free to view it that way. But please keep this as your private pleasure. We are not there to demonstrate against anything. Saturday Style Ride is a zero-budget event living on the support of the style and cycle community in and around Zürich.

WHERE DO WE GO? We will tour the town of Zurich in loose groups, stopping on half-route at Colombo La Famiglia in Hürlimann-Areal / Brandschenkestrasse (late joiners can jump in there) for a refreshment and will then cycle to 25hours Hotel Zürich West, where drinks and some light foods will be available. Here's the estimated route (depending on traffic situation).

WHAT IS THERE TO WIN? A golden bicycle by Bella Ciao, a sporty watch by Maurice de Mauriac, a weekend for two in the funkiest hotel in town, a handlebar-bag, a pocket-watch and so on ... see the full list of prizes in this link here. The jury is tough and demanding!

WHO CAN JOIN? Virtually anyone on two wheels or, if disabled, on three wheels, without motors (or low electric power). We usually attract well-dressed gentlemen, but since this has become talk-of-town, we see more and more women joining the ride - and we love that. Couples can win a special prize this year...

Now is stores around Zürich - Saturday Style Ride

Some of the finest fashion stores in downtown Zurich are supporting the SATURDAY STYLE RIDE idea with special window displays, showing nice bikes (supplied by Stilrad°°) and the announcement of the cycle style ride on Saturday 15th... Go and have a look at their windows and goods!

One of the first to enthousiastically support the STYLE RIDE was STEREO FASHION in Seefeldstrasse (images above) - the first ever Gentlemen's Run already did a pitstop here!

Then there is the always great designer fashion boutique LOOQ in Kirchgasse, who stocks unusual labels and also supports SATURDAY STYLE RIDE with some announcements in the windows!

Another of our all-time favourite shops in central Zürich is DEE CEE STYLE, stocking really good casual- and denimwear - plus they sell bikes, too (no joke!).

SATURDAY STYLE RIDE - SAT, JUNE 15th 2013, ZÜRICHHORN

Saturday Style Ride - what you need to know

WHAT? The Staurday Style Ride is a public gathering of urban individuals with style and an appreciation for noiseless two-wheel transportation. The ride follows a circuit through central Zurich and will end in Kreis 5 at the 25 hours Hotel, where food and drinks will be available. 

WHO? The Saturday Style Ride follows in the footsteps of the highly successful 2011 and 2012 Gentlemen's Runs which is postponed for technical reasons to early autumn this year. It is not replacing or attacking the Gentlemen's Run, but rather trying to fill the gap and to offer some early summer bicycle joy. We are one and the same.

WHY? We have no political or social intention to host this event, but do it purely for the joy of cycling with some good looking, charmingly styled people with the same mindset. If you want to see this urban joyride as a political act, feel free ... but please don't use the event to promote such ideas. 

WHEN? The Zurich Saturday Style Ride starts Sat., June 15th at 3pm. in the afternoon from Zurichhorn. All stylish individuals will meet from 2pm on around the "Heureka" installation by Jean Tinguely to gather and mount starting numbers, which will be supplied by the commitee.

WHERE? We will cycle along the lake to a pit stop at Hürlimann Areal, where Colombo La Famiglia will have some refreshments for us. After this quick stop we will tour central Zürich, waving at spectators, arriving at Stilrad in Kreis 5 for the Award Ceremony (here's the list of prizes) and then finish at 25 hours Hotel Zürich-West, where we will have drinks supplied by Hendrick's, music and a lovely surrounding to celebrate bike style.


HOW? The Saturday Style Ride uses public roads that will be shared by others, notably pedestrians, trams, cars and motorbikes. So please make sure you follow the rules and have your bike in good safety condition. A bike helmet can increase security.

RULES? Roll with style and be polite. Always respect others, be patient and leave any rude language at home. We will ride for joy and style, not to fight.

DRESSCODE? There is NO SPECIFIC RETRO DRESSCODE, you are free to wear whatever suits your mood and lifestyle. Make sure you look dressed-up, special and inspired, because there are some beautiful prices to be won! Check our Facebook page for daily inspirations!

There is a whole new movement of young bicycle enthousiasts building up small brands by reworking old classic bikes into new one-off custom made beauties.

We already love DUCKCYCLE since quite a while - Manuel Flepp is a god-given specialist for old 70's race bikes which he puts back into old glory.

The 2013 route

The raods we take are scenic, urban and relaxed. No steep climbs, just rolling and enjoying with people alike. Start at Zürichhorn/Heureka, a stopover at Colombo La Famiglia, arrival at 25hours Hotel Zürich-West.

Be aware: We use public roads and roll in normal traffic. Please respect the laws and other people ahead. Stop if necessary. Don't claim any priority, be polite. Cross heavy traffic roads in smaller groups. Be sure your bike suits the law - for your outfit, there is no such demand.
